Situated in the heart of Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood, Double Door opened its doors for the first time on June 12, 1994. As one of Chicago's most prominent live music landmarks, Double Door has played host to up-and-comers from across the street and around the globe. As a stomping ground for Chicago's own-among them Smashing Pumpkins, Local H, Veruca Salt, Liquid Soul, Jesse de la Pena, Liz Phair and Cheap Trick-Double Door has been a springboard for emerging talent. Double Door has also seen such national acts as the Rolling Stones, Tonic, Fu Manchu, Kid Rock, Afghan Whigs, Macy Gray, Michelle Branch, the Cranberries, Bush and Henry Rollins pass through its doors, as well as hundreds of young emerging artists working their way through the live music scene.
