About 4AD
Originally started as Axis Records, by Ivo Watts-Russell and Peter Kent as part of Beggars Banquet in 1979, but due to another company called Axis immediately changes its name to 4AD. 4AD has been one of the most influential independent record labels featuring such legendary bands as Bauhaus, the Cocteau Twins, and Dead Can Dance. 4AD has always maintained a progressive attitude in the independent music scene.
