Biography

Energetic indie rock quintet Washington Social Club was formed in 2002 by singer/guitarist Martin Royle, bassist Olivia Mancini, and drummer Randall Scope. The debut full-length Catching Looks was produced by Brian McTear (Burning Brides, the Capitol Years) and issued by Badman Recordings in 2004. In support of the album, they opened for such names as the Hold Steady, Hot Hot Heat, Presidents of the United States of America, and Phantom Planet. The band has since added Evan Featherstone on guitar and brother Jared on guitar and keyboard. A second album, Bigger Than Your Boyfriend, followed a few years later.
